A.H. Rodanet & Cie à Paris No.408. Circa 1860
The frosted silvered dial signed A.H. Rodanet & Cie. à Paris, engraved Roman chapters with gilt spade hour and minute hands, seconds with blued steel hand, up-and-down sector calibrated 0-49 and numbered No. 408, the movement with four slight conical pillars with steel nuts at the backplate, chain fusee with maintaining power, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement with gold passing spring and jewelled locking stone, cut bimetallic balance with blued steel helical spring, lacquered brass bowl punch numbered 408, Continental sliding lock system for the bowl and gimbal, three-tier box with bone signature plaque to the front sentre section, drop handles to the sides, original(?) tipsy winding key
