A Queen Anne walnut and marquetry longcase clock

The case on restored double-footed plinth, convex moulding beneath the rectangular trunk door inlaid with dense floral marquetry within a seaweed marquetry border, brass-framed lenticle, later mouldings, boxwood-lined panels to the sides, the hood inlaid with similar marquetry and flanked by brass-capped ¾-columns, the 12in. square dial signed Brounker Watts London on the silvered chapter ring with sword hilt half and half quarter hour markers, pierced blued steel hands, matted centre with seconds ring and decorated calendar aperture with adjustment slot, unusual female mask-and-cherub spandrels, the movement with five ring-turned pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on a bell
