With Joseph of Arimathea lowering the body of Christ to Nicodemus who stands beneath him; with St Anne to the top right of the scene standing behind St. John the Evangelist, who supports the swooning Virgin; with Mary Magdalene to the lower right corner of the scene; on an integrally carved naturalistic base and later rectangular gilt-wood moulded plinth; with two collection labels to the reverse, one inscribed '343', the other 'BEVEREN Korte Walle'; replacements and restorations
