A George III lidded tankard
of baluster form, on a rising circular foot and with a moulded rim, leaf-capped double scroll handle and domed hinged cover with openwork thumb piece, later-chased with a vignette of two seated men, one holding a goblet, the other a lidded tankard, and also extensively later-chased with rococo flowers, foliage and C-scrolls, the cover with similar later decoration, the interior later gilt-lined, probably Thomas Wallis I, London 1767 - 8in. (20.25cm.), 30.50oz.
