In a letter to George V, the Prince wrote 'We had the investiture which was a very impressive ceremony and luckily none of us made a mistake. I found it very difficult walking backwards wearing a mantle!' Colonel Sir Howard Kerr, Prince Henry's equerry remarked in a letter that the Royal party was returning with nearly 'a ship load of presents.'
