Lot Essay

Made for Jean Cottin de Fieulaine and Marie-Anne du Rocher de Langadie, who married in 1756. Jean, a director of the Compagnie des Indes, was ennobled by King Louis in 1764. We are grateful to Antoine Lebel for this information.
