Title in red and black, half title (without a portrait, ? called for, some waterstaining at the beginning, a little spotting at the end). Contemporary vellum. 2 contemporary, or near contemporary, inscriptions in Italian about the book on endpapers. FIRST EDITION of some of the minor works of the Modenese Castelvetro, known more for his celebrated literary quarrel with Annibale Caro.
