Small woodcut device on title (lacks 32 leaves between Zz6 and AA1, 5pp. of Homer's carmina and 57pp. of Estienne's annotations, title mounted, top margins cut quite close, occasional light browning and waterstaining). Early 18th-century English panelled calf (rebacked). Provenance: Repton School (ownership inscription on title dated 1700) - J. Bodwin Smith (late 18th-century signature on title). Adams P1699; Hoffmann III, pp.233-34; Schreiber 160: "unquestionably Henri Estienne's typographic masterpiece".
