Two original autograph manuscripts in pencil [no place: n.d.], the first, entitled "Byron", 2° (323 x 200mm), of 48 leaves written on both sides, the text continuing upside-down on rectos with 4 additional pieces entitled "Surrealism & Revolution", "The Ballet", "An English Death" and "[Constantin] Guys (States Man)"; the second, entitled "Byron: the Years of Fame", 4° (229 x 179mm), of c.96 leaves written on both sides, the text continuing upside-down on rectos, many passages scored through or partially erased, both in contemporary cloth-backed boards contained in later common cloth box.

Quennel's Byron was first published in 1931, and Byron: The Years of Fame in 1935. This was followed by the same author's Byron in Italy, published in 1941. (2)
