FOUR PORCELAIN OYSTER PLATES,
LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY,
the first rectangular, with emplacements for six oysters and two mussels set into the pink ground gilt with trailing sea grasses, gilt rim; the second hexagonal with six shell emplacements radiating from a central circular sauce basin; the third crescent shape with five shell emplacements and two smaller hollows for sauce, retailer's mark for Wilhelm & Graef, New York; the fourth as an almost circular scallop shell, six oyster emplacements one scallop and one smaller set into a black ground decorated with sea grasses, mollusks and other shells, printed mark for the Union Porcelain Works, Greenpoint, N.Y.
