A group of seven Japanese boxes

Comprising a circular black lacquer box and cover, finely painted and gilt with cranes in flight, 7.5 cm. diam.; a small rectangular box decorated in gold with crests (mon), signed, 11 x 8.5 cm.; a rectangular box, the cover decorated with birds and pine-tree, 30 x 9 cm.; a hexagonal game-box, the interior with six compartments, 20.5 cm. diam.; two metal lacquered cigar boxes, one with mother-of-pearl inlay, 12.8 x 13.2 cm. long; a cigarette box inlaid with copper, silver and gilt depicting thatched dwellings, 12 cm. long (7)
