Lot Essay

This is a distinctive type of Windsor chair, with a deep seat, low back and additions to the arms for greater width. Numerous makers in High Wycombe made chairs of this design, including Glenister & Gibbons, (1865-1879) and the firm of Hearn Brothers. The maker of this chair has not been identified.
