The flat top hood now with embossed leather panels to the frets and to the sides, inset fluted and brass-capped columns and rear pilasters, the trunk and stepped plinth with chequer line inlays, the 12 in. wide brass dial with bird and urn spandrels to silvered Roma and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, date aperture and signed on a silvered plaque William/Jackson/London, later hands, the arch with strike/silent ring, the eight day movement with five pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 90¼ in.
