Standing, feet placed close together, the right hand raised in abhayamudra (gesture of protection) and the left lowered, palm outward, in varadamudra (gesture of fulfilling the vow), the drapery etched in parallel reverse arcs and in long ovals on the legs, the base cast with the figure in the form of a lotus platform set on a pierced hexagonal plinth; the back and head characteristically hollow and cast with an attachment peg at base of neck
