Lot Essay

Odoardo Fantacchiotti (1809-1877).
Fantacchiotti studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence under Stefan Ricci and Aristodemo Costoli. He sculpted works with a strong element of neo-classicism and later followed more closely the ideals of Antonio Canova and Lorenzo Bartolini.
