Portrait of a Gentleman, traditionally identified as Gaspar de Crayer

The present picture is based on Van Dyck's portrait of Gaspar de Crayer, painted en grisaille and engraved by Paulus Pontius. The present work appears to be a copy after the engraving as it is in reverse to the original (see S.J. Barnes, et. al., Van Dyck, A Complete Catalogue of the Paintings, Yale, 2004, p. 367, no. III. 149).
