A fine early 19th-Century brass and ferrous metal 'A' frame overcrank engine,
the single cylinder approximately 1in. bore x 2½in. stroke, the valve operated by eccentric and rocking levers, the valve chest with inlet manifold with hand and mechanically operated governor valve, the Watt-type governor driven from the crankshaft supported on two pierced 'A' frames with decorative brass stretchers. Further details include barrelled squared connecting rod with gibbed and cottered big end, the crankshaft supported in spilt bearings with crank driven vertically mounted feed pump and brass flywheel with oval section rim, the whole mounted on a cast bed and finished in mottled brown and polished and lacquered brightwork -- 35.5 x 17cm.
