With nickel-finished lever movement, 18 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, precision regulator, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, metal dust cover, silvered matte dial with applied Breguet numerals, subsidiary seconds, circular water-resistant-type case with down-turned lugs, screw back, case, dial and movement signed, the case further stamped FB (Taubert)

Lot Essay

Accompanied by an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirming the date of manufacture of this watch as 1947 and its subsequent sale on October 30th of the same year.

Patek Philippe commenced production of the reference 565 in 1938, initially manufactured with the 12'''200 caliber and subsidiary seconds. For further information on the reference 565 see lot 215. To the best of our knowledge, the present watch has never been offered at auction before and comes from the direct descendant of the original purchaser.
