Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe wood box and an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives.

During the 1980's Patek Philippe embarked on the mission to produce a very few Grand Complication pocket watches in the tradition of watches produced earlier in the company's history, perpetuating their famed watchmaking skills. No. 866776, sequentially two numbers after the present lot, debuted in the 1993 Patek Philippe catalogue. All of these watches contained a 20'''GC movement but each timepiece varied slightly.

For a similar example sold see Christie's Hong Kong, Important Watches, April 26, 2004, lot 1090.
