The case with handle and pineapple finials to the bell top, foliate pierced giltwood frets to the sides and front door, the dial signed Jams. Melvill/London, on a recessed silvered sector in the arch flanked by silvered rings for strike/silent and pendulum regulation, silvered Roman and Arabic chapters ring with pierced blued steel hands, matted center with calendar aperture, foliate spandrels, the movement with five pillars, twin wire fusee, verge escapement with arm adjusted pendulum, strike on a bell above the plates, foliate engraved backplate with pendulum hold fast
