Paysanne à la coiffe

This work is a fragment of another painting by Henri Charles Manguin, called 'Intérieur paysan'. Cut in 1942, the original painting portrayed a man to the right of the woman, who was also sitting down next to the straw bed. The artist signed the painting in the lower right corner which is visible on the other fragment.
The complete work together with the other section cut will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné de Henri Manguin being prepared by Mrs Claude Holstein Manguin.
