This work is a preparatory collage for the temporary artwork The Umbrellas (Project for Japan and Western-USA) which was completed in October 1991 and lasted eighteen days.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Christo catalogue raisonné being prepared by Daniel Varenne under archive no. 5028.
