The rectangular padded back, arms and squab cushion covered in silver green silk velvet edged with tassels, on cabriole legs headed by shells, on claw-and-ball feet, the front and back seat rails replaced, later front angle brackets, adapted from a side chair

Bought from Phillips of Hitchin on 19 May 1952 and invoiced as one of 'Two eighteenth century walnut chairs, including cost of converting and adapting same and covering in blue velvet 210 - -.'
