Joe Orton (English, 1933-1967) was a satirical modern playwright who shocked, outraged and amused his audiences with his scandalous black comedies up until his violent death at the hands of his lover.
A biography, Prick Up Your Ears was published in the 1970s followed the motion picture in 1987 starring Gary Oldman
