Lot Essay

Reference 2508 was introduced into the market in the mid 1930s. The first generation featured oval chronograph buttons, such as the present watch, whereas the second series were fitted with square pushers.

The present watch combines several highly desirable features: a rare pink gold case with "olive-shaped" chronograph buttons, a charismatic black dial with triple outer scale and an excellent overall condition.

Different versions of reference 2508 are described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 80-91.
