The leaf painted with the king of the insects offering a butterfly princess his crown, with an insect garde-à-corps and various pairs of ladybirds, wasps and may flies dancing together, with a crowned rook, owl, wren, robin, and lapwing bottom right with an open book with indistinct signature MCDG (?), with mother of pearl piqué sticks, the reverse painted with flowers spelling the name 'Margaret'
The sticks - 10½ in. (27 cm.) long
