A WILLIAM IV SILVER MODEL OF AN OFFICER FROM THE KING'S ROYAL HUSSAR'S
CIRCA 1830
Realistically modelled as an officer in uniform astride a rearing stallion, his saddle cast with initials 'WR' below a Royal Crown, his pack cast with '15 KH', later mounted on an ebonised wood base applied with a plaque with an engraved presentation inscription, marked with lion passant and duty mark only on the back of one leg
8 3/8 in. (21.3 cm.) high
The inscription reads 'To Their Colonel in Chief H.R.H. The Princess Margaret on the occasion of her marriage From All Ranks 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars 6th May 1960'.
Provenance
Given on the occasion of the marriage of H.R.H. The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, to Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, Earl of Snowdon on 6 May 1960, by Major-General Sir Robert Hinde K.B.E., C.B. and D.S.O. on behalf of all ranks of the 15th and 19th King's Royal Hussars.

Used for display on the table in the Dining Room of the Private Apartment of H.R.H. The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon at Kensington Palace.
