In circular ebonized wood frames, one with the portrait Laurens Coster and with latin inscription below which reads:'LAVRENTIVS COSTERVS HARLEMSIS' rimus Artis Tijpographica Inventor circa Annum 1440', the other with the portrait and inscription: 'VERO INMORTALI HADRIANO JUNIO, OB SERVATAM DE INVENTIONE ARTIS TYPOGR. HISTORIAE VERITATEM'
