A large and important german silver and silver-gilt cup and cover 'Traubenpokal'
Mark of Andreas de Meyere, Hamburg, circa 1640
On domed circular foot with lobes and applied foliate scrolls above, the Bacchus putto stem holding a pine-cone and branch, further foliate scrolls above, the cup and detachable cover shaped as a stylised bunch of grapes, C-scroll and openworked vine-shaped finial with pine-cone, gilt inside, marked on upper rim
