This pate sur pate was probably copied from an illustration of a sculpture by Guilio Monteverde (1873) of Jenner innoculating his son with cowpox liquid (sculpture in Galleria Nationale, Rome).

6½in. (16.5cm.) dia., depicting Dr. Jenner innoculating his son with cowpox liquid, inscribed W. Willis 590 Leek Road on the reverse, and signed on the face W. WILLIS, mounted on fabric, framed and glazed, overall diameter -- 10¾in. (27.3cm.)
