About Trumper's Team, (Queensland Tour, 1906): Official Souvenir

Brisbane: R.S. Hews, 1906. 8vo., 15 half-tone portraits, blank scorecard on centre pages (slightly affected by damp), original brown wrappers printed in red (edges chipped), modern brown cloth portfolio. Provenance: R.N. Jones (ownership inscription on first leaf).

RARE. The tour, wholly organised by the players, was a resounding success. "The team visited Townsville, Charters Towers, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Maryborough, Gympie and, of course, Brisbane. The magic of Trumper's batting packed houses wherever the team played" (Ashley Mallett, Trumper, 1985, p. 122). In a scintellating 207 not out at Brisbane, compiled in 123 minutes, Trumper became the first batsman to hit a ball right out of the ground -- it landed in Stanley St. Padwick 3437.
