(title to 1897 with tears at inner margin, occasional marginal browning), contemporary red cloth (spines sunfaded and frayed at head, front inner hinges of second vol. split), original green printed wrapppers bound in (rear wrapper of 1897 slightly waterstained). Provenance: A.D. Taylor (library labels, occasional stamps in text, his signed note "Only existed four years" on front free endpaper of first vol., another note on p. 208 of 1898 issue) -- M.C.C. ALL PUBLISHED. Newton, the editor, used the pseudonym of "Trundler" Thames. Each of the first three volumes contained two plates, the last one. The note by Taylor on p. 208 of the last issue states that the list of Test centuries thereon was "compiled by F.S. Ashley-Cooper". A GOOD COPY WITH A NOTABLE PROVENANCE, RETAINING THE ORIGINAL WRAPPERS. Padwick 3757. (2)
