The tall slender flask cut wtih diamonds, step-cutting, gardroons, and facets, with spire stopper, the pierced gilt-metal frame with hearts and arrows and supported by three cupid herms on a circular footed base

Lot Essay

Cf. C. Fox, London - World City 1800-1840 (London, 1992) no. 303. The iconography of cupids, hearts and arrows strongly suggest this flask was intended as a love-token.
