The fall front enclosing a central well below secret compartments and flanked by eight tiered drawers, the top long drawer with inscribed plaque PRESENTED TO SIR NORCOT WARREN.K.C.I.E, MANAGING GOVERNOR OF THE IMPERIAL BANK OF INDIA, BY THE GOVERNORS, EX-GOVERNORS AND MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL BOARDS OF THE BANK ON THE EVE OF HIS RETIREMENT ON 27TH SEPTEMBER 1927, AS A MARK OF THEIR ESTEEM AND APPRECIATION OF HIS LONG AND MERITORIOUS SERVICES OF 42 YEARS WITH THE BANK OF BENGAL AND THE IMPERIAL BANK OF INDIA AND HIS CONNECTION WITH INDIAN BANKING GENERALLY, BANK OF BENGAL 1885-1920, IMPERIAL BANK OF INDIA 1921-1927
