Marcel Gimond fut un élève d'Aristide Maillol, et dirigea entre 1946 et 1960 un atelier à l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Il réalisa en 1936 plusieurs sculptures pour le Trocadéro et le Palais de Chaillot. Il est surtout connu pour être un spécialiste de bustes.

Marcel Gimond studied under the direction of Aristide Maillol and went on to become the Director of the School of Fine Arts in Paris (1946-1960). In 1936, Gimond executed a number of sculptures for the Trocadéro and the Palais de Chaillot. He is most well-known for his work in portrait busts.
