Anatole Litvak (1902-1974), premier propriétaire de cette oeuvre, était d'origine ukrainienne. Réalisateur, producteur et scénariste à Hollywood, il réalisa de nombreux films dont Anastasia en 1956 avec Yul Brynner et Ingrid Bergman, Aimez-vous Brahms en 1961 et aussi avec Ingrid Bergman, ou encore La Nuit des généraux en 1966 avec Omar Shariff et Peter O'Toole.
The first owner of this work, Anatole Litvak (1902-1974), was a Hollywood director, producer and scriptwriter of Ukrainian origin. His accomplishments in this field were numerous, including the 1956 film "Anastasia" starring Yul Brenner and Ingrid Bergman; "Goodbye Again" of 1961, also starring Ingrid Bergmann; and "The Night of the Generals" in 1966 with Omar Shariff and Peter O'Toole.
