A CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL circa 1720
With sighted barrel formed with a full-length tapering flat, flat lock signed in the Italian fashion with the maker's initials 'G.A.M', with wavy linear-engraved borders and strongly bevelled edges, carved moulded figured walnut full stock (minor crack and early working repair respectively about the barrel tang and beneath the lock), full plain moulded steel mounts, comprising large bulbous pommel with moulded cap, slender flattened three-stage side-plate and flattened trigger-guard with leaf finial, faceted ramrod-piped, horn fore-end cap, and iron-capped wooden ramrod.
