A FLINTLOCK SERVICE MUSKET MARKED FOR THE MONMOUTH MILITIA
Early 19th Century
With 40 1/8in barrel inscribed 'Monh', border engraved lock stamped 'Tower' and 'GR' crowned (cock associated), stocked to 4½in behind the muzzle, full brass mounts of India pattern including butt-plate inscribed 'D' over '96', the side-plate stamped '107', iron sling-swivels, and iron ramrod, Ordnance Storekeer's stamp and Ordnance proof marks; together with socket-bayonet.
