Sheishi Shita Jikan -- Where Time Has Stopped. Tokyo: Kashimashuppan, 1967. 4° (300 x 200mm). 135 photographs, 31 of these in colour. (A few plates loose.) Original blue cloth, black endpapers, covers blind-stamped, printed paper label on spine, original photo-illustrated slipcase, original acetate dust-jacket printed in black (slipcase lightly soiled and rubbed, dust-jacket front panel with long tear and associated creases). Provenance: Narahara's inscription, in white, and stamp, in red, on the free endpaper.

FIRST EDITION, INSCRIBED BY NARAHARA, OF HIS FIRST BOOK. Narahara, a founding member of Vivo, was named Photographer of the Year in 1967 by the Japanese Photo Critics Association, and was given the Mainichi Arts Award in 1967, and the Ministry of Education Arts Award in 1968, all in connection with this book.
