Lot Essay

Glenfinlas was the last of the six sisterships (also see Glenartney, lot 592) built on the Clyde for the Glen Line by the London & Glasgow Shipbuilding Co. Registered at 2,154 tons gross (1,409 net) and with identical dimensions to her sisters, she was completed in 1874 and remained with her first owners until sold in 1890. Retaining her original name until the end of her career, she was scrapped in 1896.
