A Tibetan wood, fabric and lacquer gilt Boddhisattva, 16th/17th century
seated in dhyanasana with his hands in dharmachakra mudra holding a lingzhi stem, with pleated and high knotted hair, with a serene expression, the eyes downcast, framed with pendulous ears with loose earings, wearing flowing robes and adorned with beaded ornaments; and a later scroll found in the interior of the figure -- the figure 10¾in. (27.3cm.) high, the scroll 195¾in. x 3 3/8in. (497.2cm. x 8.5cm.)
