The centre with a phoenix in flight above a blooming peony bush staring at a butterfly, framed by four peony sprigs around the cavetto and fish and shrimps enclosed within cartouches reserved on diaper ground with scattered demi-flowerheads, the reverse with an iron-red diaper band below the rim above four peony sprigs -- 9 5/16in. (23.6cm.) diam.
