composed of a narrow wood stem, of cylindrical section, with slightly tapering mouthpiece, wrapped with ivory, yellow, green, orange, and purple-dyed porcupine quills, and panels of horsehair, decorated with small plaited geometric motifs along the top, and set into a green steatite bowl, with ridged lower panel, surmounted by a tall, tapering bowl
