Lot Essay

The Sargents of Boston were some of Paul Revere's most important patrons. Revere's account books record 59 transactions with eight family members between 1762 and 1792. A set of three beakers engraved with the Sargent crest was sold in these Rooms, January 22, 1993, lot 226.
