1931 STANDARD LITTLE NINE FOUR DOOR SALOON

Details
1931 STANDARD LITTLE NINE FOUR DOOR SALOON

Chassis No. 1216
Engine No. Tba
Black with dark blue leather interior

Engine: four cylinder, side valve 1,005cc, 9hp; Gearbox: three speed with right hand change; Suspension: front and rear, semi-elliptic leaf springs; Brakes: four wheel drum. Right hand drive

Standard's Little Nine represented excellent value for money at £155, providing a competent package of up to 55mph, a three speed 'box with silent second ratio, and in deluxe form including such luxuries as a 'hat cord' and cigar lighter.

'VC 9753' represents a benchmark example of what was normally offered on these chassis: a lightweight six light saloon. Little is known of this car's history, and unfortunately in the case of this example there is no documentary support of its registration number. This aside, the car appears to be largely original, and its condition simply reflects its age. Visually this may appear worse than the reality owing to the glass windows having delaminated and so obscuring the interior from view.

It is nevertheless a good, complete example of the model and a good candidate for sympathetic restoration to return it to the road.
Special Notice

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 15% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
