Lot Essay

Felts have long been used for utilitarian purposes: seating, floor coverings and door and wall hangings. Decorated with traditional designs, it has been suggested that the motifs may have been influenced by silversmiths from the Kubachi village, famous in Daghestan for its metalwork designs.
