Cards are numbered 1 to 78, full-length figures, double-ended card titles with reversed meanings plus text covering the seven days of Creation on cards numbered 2 to 8, Arabic numerals, unusual Italian suits, four indices, each card is designated "Droit" and "Renverse" for right and reverse meanings, card titles in italics also are repeated on both sides, card 1 reads, ETTEILLA, card 8 reads ETTEILLA/LA QUESTIONNANTE, card 4 contains astrological symbols for Monday through Saturday within panel of the card imagery, card 5 includes zodiac symbols for Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus and Leo within panel of the card imagery, card 78 reads La Folie, ou L'Alchimiste. Lismon reveals the same plates were used on most of the cards, but size and style of lettering differs on some cards between the two decks, card 29 has a different image inset in the bottom panel, card 56 has a bust that appears on card 58 in the circa 1890 Lismon pack, the bust on 57 is the same as the bust in Lismon's 62, the bust on 58 belongs to card 56 in Lismon, the bust on 62 appears on 57 in Lismon, the image of a seated woman on 69 appears on 73 in Lismon, the image on 73 is taken from 69 in Lismon, also the text running vertical along the left sides of the kings, queens, valets and 10 to ace in the suits of coupe and epee corresponds to the French suit signs of coeur and pique on the right side, but the suit of batons on the left is shown on the right side as corresponding to carreau (diamonds), and denier (coins) on the left is written trefle (clubs)on the right. The cavaliers in each suit are described with the same titles on both sides. Card size at black border 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm) high, 2 7/16 in. (6.1 cm.) wide, book size 7 3/8 in. (18.6 cm) high, 4 1/2 in. (11.3 cm) wide. In generally fine condition.
