A PAIR OF SMALL WHITE-GLAZED DISHES
CHINA, QING DYNASTY, YONGZHENG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

Lot Essay

These rare small white-glazed dishes are copying the Ding wares of the Song dynasty. A similar slightly smaller dish with the same design and from the same period, in the Percival David Foundation, London (no.464), is illustrated in Regina Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, Vol.2, London 1994, pl.790 ; compare also with a similar dish from the Qianlong period from the E.T. Hall collection sold in our London Rooms, 7 June 2004, lot 189
