JUDAICA:- A LATE VICTORIAN SILVER HANNUKAH LAMP,
MARK OF AARON KATZ, LONDON, 1896,
In the Polish manner, the backplate embossed with two lions flanking a 7-branch candelabrum, menorah, within a surround of scrolls with a large crown above, flanked by birds under a tasselled canopy, at either side a flaming torch atop a pedestal, with detachable auxiliary light & oil jug, the front with filigree galleried sides & eight oil receptacles, raised on six small leaf & paw feet, 11 in. high (28 cm.), 31 oz.
