A COMPREHENSIVE 20TH CENTURY BELGIAN SILVER ART DECO DINNER SERVICE,
MARK OF DELHEID FRERES, BRUSSELS, CIRCA 1930, EXCEPT THE 12 PLATES & THE BUTTER DISHES BY OTHER MAKERS,
Comprising 2 large octagonal platters with moulded rims, centres monogrammed, 17 1/8 in. diameter (43.5 cm.), 2 meat dishes, 19¾ in. long (50.2 cm.), a set of 12 small plates, 9¼ in. diameter (23.5 cm.), a pair of octagonal sauceboats on stands, with stepped side handles, a dish en suite, 15¼ in. long (38.8 cm.), and a service of flatware & cutlery contained in 3 fitted drawers, of tapering form with cut corners & two narrow ribs along the length of the handles, these ribs repeated in a "U" shape on the backs of the spoon bowls, comprising:- 18 table knives, 18 dessert spoons, 30 dessert forks, 18 cheese knives, 18 table forks, 18 table spoons, 12 dessert knives, 2 pairs of salad servers, 1 gravy ladle & 1 sauce ladle also a pair of octagonal butter dishes complete with butter knives & clear glass liners & a 6-piece hexagonal condiment set with clear glass liners & 6 condiment spoons, (all knives with stainless steel blades), weighable silver 575 oz.
